Jacksonville boys’ golf team beats Taylorville
Comments 0 | Recommend 0Using a lineup of mainly junior varsity players, Jacksonville defeated Taylorville in a boys’ golf meet Wednesday in Jacksonville. The Crimsons edged the Tornadoes by three strokes, 177 to 180.
Jacksonville’s Reed Turke earned medalist honors by firing a 41. Chris Heyer was next in line for Jacksonville with a 44, and he was followed by Michael Schofield (45), Joseph Cummings (47), Matt Pennell (61) and Michael Cooley (64).
Jacksonville, whose record is now 14-5, competes in the CS8 Tournament at Piper Glenn Thursday morning.
