With a berth in the Final Four already secure, Routt graduate Jaclyn Meado and the Parkland College volleyball team (36-12) will look to continue their run toward the NJCAA championship in tonight’s national semifinals against top-seeded Kishwaukee College. First serve is at 6:30 p.m. The Cobras swept No. 12 seed East Central 25-17, 25-12, 25-17 in their first round match. Parkland struggled in its second match but managed to hold off Des Moines Area Community College 25-12, 24-26, 16-25, 25-18, 15-13 to advance to the semifinals. Next up for Parkland is two-time defending NJCAA champion Kishwaukee College. The Cobras lost to Kishwaukee in four games earlier this season during the McHenry Tournament. Heading into Thursday’s matches, Meado led Parkland with 108 blocks on the season. She also had 49 aces (second on the team) and 272 kills (fifth on the team). The Cobras are now just two wins away from winning their second national championship in volleyball.
